GOTR_GreaterRichmond_Fall_2017

We had a wonderful 2018 Fall Season of GOTR this year! With 19 sites and over 300 registered participants, we could not be more proud of the growth of our program!

If you would like to host a program, please email info@gotrrichmond.org more information and the process for hosting a Fall season of Girls on the Run.  Visit our locations page to download our “Site Guidelines” document to get started. Applications are due April 1st.

Please note that coach training for all fall sites and coaches will take place in August 2019 and is required for all new coaches. See Coaching Page under “Get Involved” tab on our website for more details about coaching. August training dates will be solidified by April 1st.

Fall 2019 Registration

Registration for Fall 2019 will open online for most of our sites August 1st at 7:00 am.

Space is limited to 15-20  girls on each team based on coaching staff. You will be notified immediately if you are on the waiting list when registering, and you will not be charged unless you are added to the team.

Registration Fee

Our standard registration fee is $185 and helps to cover the cost of our 10-week program. There is an online processing fee of $8.07 assessed by our vendor, Raceplanner for their service and credit card processing.

Reduced fee teams-Some sites have reduced registrations for the entire team based on site agreements and community partnerships.

Your program is more than others at my school! Why?

Compared to other programs, our practices are longer and take place twice as often (90 minutes each and twice a week). Our season is also about twice as long as others (10 weeks) and includes entry to a 5k, thus the cost is set to help cover the cost associated with programming. We are an independent program and our costs are not subsidized by affiliate organizations.

This includes:

  • Participation in a 10 week, 21 lesson program, conducted by certified GOTR coaches (practices of 90 minutes each)
  • Research and evidence based curriculum and materials used over the course of the season
  • Parent resource guides (emailed home weekly to keep the conversations and lessons going on at home and in the community)
  • Official GOTR program t-shirt
  • GOTR water bottle
  • 5k race entry
  • End of season 5k completion medal
  • Season of confidence enhancing lessons and life-skills your girl won’t forget!

Financial Assistance via Scholarships

Scholarships of 25%-75% of the program fee are available to all families and are needs based. Please note that you will be required to verify eligibility by emailing a scanned a copy of the first two pages of your 2018 IRS form 1040 as proof of income to complete your application for consideration. Applications without scanned 1040 forms are not complete and will not be considered for scholarships.

Please apply for a scholarship prior to registration. We are accepting scholarships starting July 1st. Click here to begin your scholarship application

Due to the generosity of community partners and individual donors, some sites have reduced registrations for all girls. To learn more about Community Partnerships or providing a scholarship for a participant, please visit our local sponsors page or contact us info@gotrrichmond.org

2018 Fall Schedules for Reference

Our fall plans are in progress. The fall 2019 season will begin the third week of September (September 16th).  The season ends with a celebratory 5k. Stay tuned for more details.  All practices are 1.5 hours, twice a week and take place immediately after school on the site’s designated days. Girls are expected to come both days for practices. Lessons, life-skills and the physical activity build upon each other, therefore only attending one day a week is not allowed.
